Despite all efforts by the high command the infight between BJP workers in Panaji has not yet been resolved. The BJP has supported the panel chosen by the MLA Atanasio Monserrate. However many BJP workers from Panaji have fielded their nominations in the panels 'We Ponjekars' and some have fielded as independent candidates.
In some wards, there is a fight between the BJP vs BJP leaders. In Ward number 18, 19, 20 and 21 the BJP leaders have supported candidates other than BJP MLA supported panel candidates.
BJP leaders have tried to pacify some of the leaders and also tried to deter some leaders by taking action. However, these efforts have till now seem to go in vain. One of the vocal leader Dattaprasad Naik has been removed from the position of party spokesperson.
However, two of the party worker and sitting councillor Pundalik Raut Desai and party worker Reena Toraskar have taken back their nominations.
