PANAJI
The Health Department detected 48 new cases from among the 1,165 samples tested on Sunday. The daily positivity rate continues to remain high at 4.1 per cent.
While the total confirmed cases so far have touched 55,409, the number of Covid deaths remains steady at 799, with no fatalities resulting from the infection being recorded in the last 24 hours.
The state has a total of 688 active cases as on date. A large chunk of these continues to be located in Panaji and Margao. While 89 cases are presently being monitored by the Urban Health Centre in Panaji, UHC Margao remains flooded with 93 active cases under it. Primary Health Centre in Chimbel and UHC Mapusa are close at the heel with 58 and 46 active cases under them, respectively.
