Winning Rivona ZP candidate Suresh Kepekar along with ex-MLA Subhash Phaldessai and others.

Winning the Rivona ZP constituency has become a habit for the BJP, after it won the seat for the fourth time in a row. Suresh Kepekar polled 5,416 votes defeating his nearest rival and Congress candidate Abhijit Dessai who secured 3,043 votes, securing a lead of 2,373 votes.
Independent candidate, Gajanan Raikar, who was backed by Sanguem MLA Prasad Gaonkar, came in third with 2,481 votes.
Kepekar secured leads in Uguem and Bhati, while Dessai took a slender lead of 62 votes in Netravali village and Raikar managed to a marginal lead of 453 votes in Rivona and Kurdi-Wadem villages.
The lead of over 1,600 votes in Bhati and Uguem villages, however, proved sufficient for Kepekar to win the Rivona ZP election.
Kepekar thanked ex-MLA Subhash Phaldessai, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and all party workers for their support in getting him elected in the ZP election.
Ex-MLA Subhash Phaldessai thanked all party workers for their hard work in getting Kepekar elected from the Rivona ZP constituency.
“This win will be a big boost for party workers to work with more zeal and enthusiasm in the assembly elections,” said Phaldessai.
