BJP says 80% of member registrations complete

Despite the festive season and heavy rainfall, the Bharatiya Janata Party has completed almost 80 percent of the targeted registration of members, even as the election process of parties’ organisational functionaries in the State will start from September 15.   

“We have registered almost 3,50,000 party members and our target is 4,00,000,” said Sadanand Shet Tanawade, General Secretary of BJP.   

He also informed that though the process of registration of another 50,000 members will continue side by side the election process for the organizational functionaries.

Now with the 10 ex-Congress MLAs joining BJP, it is expected that the membership of BJP in areas where it has no presence will also increase.   

Meanwhile, the party has organised social programmes from September 14 to 20 to celebrate the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi which falls on September 14.   

The party leader Sunil Devdhar is arriving in Goa to plan the social programmes. He will hold a meeting with BJP leaders in the state on Wednesday.   

MLA Dayanand Sopte is in-charge of the organising committee of the programme.
