Union Minister Shripad Naik said the BJP should consider an alliance with like-minded parties for the upcoming assembly elections.
“The party should consider an alliance with like-minded parties as alliances always give positive results. But this is my personal opinion,” said Naik.
Naik did not deny his desire to play a prominent role in State politics, but insisted that the party would take a final call on who would contest the upcoming assembly elections.
“Decisions in the party are taken by the seniors. I have never demanded anything from the party. I have always tried to do justice to whatever has been assigned to me,” he said.
He said the election committee of the party decides on the party tickets.
“As always, 2-3 names from each constituency are sent to the party's selection committee and the committee finally decides on which candidate will get a ticket,” said Naik.
It may be recalled that Shripad that karyakartas are the strength of BJP and losing even one of them amounts to losing hundreds of votes for the party.
“As polls are around the corner, there is need to rekindle sense of vigour, vitality and dynamism among karyakartas and they should ensure that social schemes devised by the BJP reach people at the grass roots,” he had said.
