Ruling BJP ST leader Anthony Barbosa has slammed the Congress and its INDI Alliance for repeatedly disturbing & stalling the Goa ST Reservation Bill in Parliament for the third time.

In a statement, Anthony said it only goes to show how the Congress Party is playing dirty politics on ST Political Reservation Bill. “After several decades Congress ruled the country and Goa, but they miserably failed to even declare Goa's ST Communities (Gawdas, Kunbis & Velips) in the central list of Scheduled Tribes,” he said.

He recalled that the BJP under the leadership of late Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee in the year 2003 had fulfilled Goa's ST Communities long pending demand by including three Goan communities in the central list of Scheduled Tribes.

Strongly condemning the act of the Congress Party and South Goa Lok Sabha MP Viriato Fernandes for not convincing his leader Rahul Gandhi to  support & allow the Lok Sabha to take up the 'The Readjustment of Representation of Scheduled Tribes in Assembly Constituencies of the State of Goa Bill, 2024' for further consideration, Anthony said, “Instead MP Viriato along with his entire Congress Party Lok Sabha Members of Parliament and its INDI Alliance MP's made ruckus in the Lok Sabha for 3rd time during the current Mansoon Session of Lok Sabha forcing Speaker of  Parliament to adjourn the house “.

The BJP ST leader, however, said the ST Communities from Goa have full faith in passing of the  Goa ST Reservation Bill 2024, under the  BJP Party  visionary leadership.

“The so-called Goem, Goemkar and  Goemkarpon leader is list bothered to talk about Goa ST Reservation Bill. Why Goa Forward Party Silence on important Goa ST Reservation Bill stalled by Congress Party & it's INDI Alliance in the Lok Sabha?, he questioned.
