BJP’s poor show is showing: Congress

MARGAO
Asserting that the defeat of the ruling party in Cuncolim and poor performance in other civic bodies is the beginning of the end of the BJP in Goa, Leader of Opposition Digambar Kamat said.

He asserted people of Goa have showed the ruling party its place for its “dadagiri” and anti-people decisions.

“The election results are a clear signal to the ruling party that its popularity is fading and it is the beginning of its end. When

the Congress was in power in the state, we had scrapped many projects, including the SEZ, RP by bowing

to the sentiments of the people. Today, what is happening in dadagiri. The BJP is bulldozing its way with the controversial projects such as track doubling, IIT project, ward reservations et al,” he said.

He said the by-poll result of the Sakhali Municipal Council in Chief Minister Pramod Sawant‘s constituency shows the changing situation in the state.

Kamat said the Congress would have made a clean sweep of the Zilla Panchayat polls if the election were held before the lockdown due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
