Will win hands down in 2022, asserts BJP

PANAJI
The BJP has said that its victory proved again that the IIT in Melauli, casinos, etc., are artificially created issues and there is no support of people to these.

“These issues have been created by some political opponents and NGOs. People have faith in the government and the win in the municipal elections has again proved this,” said Chief Minister Pramod Sawant in a press conference.

The IIT is a non-issue as all BJP-supported councillors were elected in Valpoi, said BJP state President Tanawade.

He said that BJP will win full majority in the upcoming assembly session.

Justifying the defeat in by-polls in Sankhali ward 9, Tanavade said that it never belonged to the party and BJP has never won there. Our candidate has lost by just 16 votes in this ward, he added.

He also taunted opposition leader Digambar Kamat saying that he should not dream of defeating the BJP-supported panel in Margao and other remaining municipal elections.

BJP has won 85 ward seats out of 105 which proves its good performance in the election.

While accepting the defeat in Cuncolim municipality, Tanavade said the party will study what went against the party and try to win next time.

He warned of action against the rebels in Panaji who worked against the party-supported candidates at the CCP elections. “BJP leaders will have a meeting on this and will decide on the action against the workers who revolted against the party,” said Tanavade.

Tanavade also said the people who tried to go against the party have got the answer.
