The body of a senior citizen was found floating in the river near Revora on Tuesday afternoon.
Colvale police have registered an unnatural death case as part of their ongoing investigation.
The deceased has been identified as 60-year-old Devanand Shinde of Revora.
The incident came to light when the body was spotted in the river by local residents.
Mapusa fire personnel were immediately alerted, and a team led by DS Sawant swiftly responded to the scene. They recovered the body and subsequently handed it over to the Colvale police.
According to police, Shinde’s family had been searching for him as he had gone missing prior to the discovery of his body. Colvale police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the death.
