Book 'Daring it Alone released

PANAJI: A book 'Daring it Alone!' was released on September 18, that has its focus on widows and other single women. The book is written by Dr Maria Noemia Mascarenhas, and has several first-hand accounts by widows and other single women - most of them from Goa.

The cover of the book is designed by Vasco-based artist, Agnelo Silveira and the book is published by Sangam Charitable Trust in collaboration with the Redemptorist Vice-Province of St Majella and the Society of the Missionaries of St Francis Xavier (Pilar Fathers).

The book was released by Lorna D'Souza, president of the 'Hope and Life Association' for widows (Mumbai), along with another widow-member Dr Jeanette Pinto (former Principal of Sophia College, Mumbai) and Fr Hilario Fernandes (Vicar-General of the Pilar Fathers), at a conference for widows held at St Andrew Parish, Vasco.

Fr Gabriel Coutinho, Parish Priest of Vasco was also present.
