PONDA
According to sources, the incident took place while a BJP corner meeting was in progress at Saibab temple in Borim. Minister for Industries Mahadev Naik was also present at the meeting, which was part of a series of four meetings scheduled in Shiroda constituency on Wednesday evening.
While Parrikar was addressing the meeting, the man, identified as Ramdas Naik, rose from his chair and begun asking Parrikar a number of questions.
Taken aback by the volley of questions, police decided to detain Naik on charges of obstructing the corner meeting.
Confirming the arrest, Ponda Police Inspector Sudesh Naik told The Goan that Naik had been arrested on charges of obstructing the meeting, as he began asking questions to the defence Minister, while he was addressing a crowd of around 200 people.
On hearing news of Naik’s detention and subsequent arrest, supporters from other parties, except for the BJP, rushed to the police station to voice their support to Naik.
