According to Old Goa police, the mishap occurred along the Gaundalim slope when Imdan Khalko and his son, Amandeep, were travelling from Cumbharjua towards Old Goa in a water tanker.

On reaching Gaundalim slope, Imdan lost control of the tanker and the vehicle turned turtle.
