In a tragic incident, an 8-year-old boy died after accidentally falling into a well at Belem-Velsao.
According to sources in Verna police, the boy was reported missing from his house at around 8 pm on Saturday.
“The parents conducted an extensive search operation, but failed to trace him. Family members later suspected that the boy may have accidentally fallen into the well near their house and resumed a search operation at around 9.30 am on Sunday.”
Body found
“Family members then spotted the body of the missing boy floating in the well,” said the source.
The Verna police was notified of the incident and the body was retrieved from the well and later sent to Hospicio at Margao. Verna police have registered a case of unnatural death and PSI Kiran Naik is investigating the case under the supervision of PI Harish Madkaikar.
