Brass items worth Rs 1.2 lakh stolen from Margao home

Unknown persons allegedly broke into a house at Comba in Margao and stole brass items worth about Rs 1.20 lakh. In his complaint, a resident of Borda, Mahesh Rivankar, stated that on June 10, two unidentified men aged between 30 and 40 years, whom he had engaged to clean his backyard, allegedly entered his house by breaking open the rear door.

The accused allegedly stole two brass hanging lamps (lamindives), two brass samayas, one brass pancharat, one brass ekarat and other puja items from the devghar. They also took five brass cooking utensils and four to five aluminium utensils from the kitchen. The total value of the stolen items is estimated at Rs 1.20 lakh.

A case has been registered under Sections 331(3) and 305(a) read with Section 3(5) of the BNS against the accused.
