Police sub-inspector Anand Narvekar presently attached to Valpoi police station and Police-constable Sachin Naik of Bicholim police station who were arrested while accepting a bribe to dilute a domestic violence case have been
suspended.
Deputy Inspector General of Police Rajesh Kumar issued an order suspending the duo on Wednesday. Their suspension will be effective from
August 3.
PSI Narvekar and constable Naik were caught accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000
from a person who reportedly had a case of domestic
violence registered against him.
They had initially asked for a bribe of Rs 30,000 but later settled for Rs 10,000 to dilute the domestic violence case registered against the complainant at Valpoi Police
station.
The complainant approached the ACB who laid a trap and arrested the duo.
