British national booked for carrying GPS device at Goa Airport

PANAJI 

Dabolim Airport Police booked British national for carrying a GPS device while travelling from Goa to Delhi in violation of provisions under the Indian Wireless Telegraphy Act.  

In an official statement issued, the police informed that the incident came to light when the passenger was intercepted during security checks prior to departure at the airport. Upon inspection, authorities detected a GPS device in his possession. 

The passenger has been identified as Samir Ciaran

He is been booked under Section 6(1A) read with Section 3 of the Indian Wireless Telegraphy Act, 1933.

The investigation is being carried out by PSI Kasim J. Shingangutti under the supervision of PI John Fernandes and guidance of Mormugao SP Gurudas Kadam
