OLD GOA

Ruling out the suicide angle, Vinay Naik, brother of Prakash Naik, has suspected foul play in the death of his brother.

Speaking to The Goan, Naik informed that their sister, Sarita Govekar, and her daughter were the first ones to enter the room at 10.45 am, where the body of Prakash was lying on the bed.

“Initially thinking that Prakash was sleeping, they tried to wake him up. When he did not respond, they then pulled the bedsheet and noticed that the gun was lying underneath on the stomach. How could the bedsheet be over the gun?” he questioned.

Naik also questioned the veracity of the suicide messages sent through social media platform to many of his friends.

“Three messages were sent to all and they received the messages at 10.40 am. How is it possible that all three messages were sent at the same time? Besides, Prakash’s English was not as good as the language used in the messages,” Naik further said.

Naik then stated that the maid informed that the back door was latched but they had found it open. He then raised the possibility of the involvement of the two persons named in the first suicide message as his brother’s supporters informed that the duo had been harassing him.

Naik demanded that a thorough investigation by the police so that truth is revealed.

He said that he has called IGP Jaspal Singh and SP north Utkrisht Prasoon with the demand to probe the matter related to the death of the elected representative on priority.
He feared that the probe may be influenced by the politician whose brother is named in the suicide note.
