Stating that BJP has hurt Konkani-Marathi lovers for garnering minority votes, GSM claimed that this time even the minority community will not vote for the BJP.
Addressing a press conference, GSM president Anand Shirodkar said, “To garner minority votes, BJP hurt the Konkani-Marathi lovers. They will never vote for BJP. In case of minority community, last time too they have only voted for BJP in places where there was a minority candidate.”
Exuding confidence that all five of their candidates will get elected, Shirodkar said, “The undercurrent is in our favour. Even our study has indicated that they will not win more than eight constituencies.”
Earlier, speaking about Parrikar’s failure, he said, “Parrikar betrayed Goans on the issue of MoI. He violated the National Education Framework on MoI to appease a section of Goan population for electoral gains.”
Speaking on the issue of mining in the State, Shirodkar said that Parrikar unilaterally stopped mining in the State, without considering the option of regulating legal mining.
“He claimed that the loss due to mining in Goa was Rs 35,000 crore. Nothing has been done yet to recover this money. Additionally, no person involved in illegal mining has been booked by them,” said Shirodkar.
He called on the people of  the State not to vote the BJP back to power and called on them to vote for the MGP-GSM-Shiv Sena combine so that the culture and heritage of the State will be saved.
