PANAJI
Despite exuding confidence that MGP-GSM-SS will win 24 seats in an alliance, MGP supremo Sudin Dhavalikar is still open to a post-poll alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), only on his conditions.
“This time MGP will not align as we are in a grand alliance. If they (BJP) want to align with us on our conditions, let them come and meet us," said Dhavalikar.
He was commenting on whether he would align with the BJP, if needed to form the government. All three alliance partners held a joint press conference ahead of the poll.
Speaking further, he said, “We are certain that at least 24 of our candidates will get elected. In this election, the tall leaders of BJP as well as the Congress will get defeated. In Mapusa and Valpoi, we are doing well. Even if I am leading this alliance, it is because of the people.”
“Goans knew that Congress and BJP wanted to finish MGP because of which we had to use Chanakyaniti. It is only because of this that MGP is flourishing," he said.
“All alliance partners had a padayatra (rally) in Panaji today wherein about 600 people participated. Panaji MLA was left stunned looking at our rally and was trying to block our vehicles. This clearly shows that even in Panaji, they are not certain about winning," he said.
Speaking earlier, Senior BBSM leader Subhash Velingkar exuded confidence that neither RSS swayamsevaks, nor their family members will vote for the BJP in the upcoming poll.
“Goa RSS has rejected BJP entirely. Every Sangh karyakarta will take care to see that none of his family members will vote for BJP. They have gone a step ahead of Congress in misdeeds and corruption and people are well aware of it," he said.
