Miscreants made an abortive bid to rob the ATM of a nationalised bank at Murida-Cunalim on the night of June 19.

While its been three days since the incident came to light, Cuncolim police have not registered any case of attempted burglary as no formal complaint has been lodged by the bank manager.

Chairman of Green Goa Foundation Raison Almeida on Monday lodged a complaint with the district police chief, South Shekhar Prabhudesai demanding a detailed probe into the incident,

He said the police should investigate the case and bring the culprits to book.

When THE GOAN contacted the bank manager, he contended that the bank has so far not lodged a complaint on grounds that the ATM has not been checked by the manufacturing company. “Unless the ATM is checked by the company, we cannot just lodge a complaint with the police. The bank has already intimated the ATM manufacturing company and will lodge a formal complaint with the police after receiving a report from them”, the bank manager stated.
