MARGAO
An unknown pedestrian was knocked down by a bus on the Margao flyover, paralysing vehicular traffic on the road overbridge which is undergoing repairs.
The pedestrian, who sustained leg injuries, was rushed to the Hospicio district hospital and was later shifted to the Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim.
Margao Police informed that the pedestrian suddenly came on the lane which is allowed for vehicular traffic before he was knocked down by the bus.
The fire brigade was later called to wash the portion of the flyover at the spot, where the pedestrian had met with the accident.
The Margao flyover is presently undergoing repairs, with the PWD, National Highway on the job to remove the concrete surface and replace the same with a layer of hot mix.
Work on the flyover is now expected to be complete in all respects by mid-April.
