Results of the CA Final exams conducted in May 2023 were announced all over India. Goa welcomed 10 new Chartered Accountants to its fold in these CA results.
Chairperson, Goa Branch of WIRC of ICAI, CA Thomas Andrade congratulated and welcomed the newly qualified CAs and said, “This is a positive outcome for the State of Goa as there is an increase in the number of students qualified as chartered accountants from Goa over a period, this will encourage others to pursue CA course.”
The successful candidates are Anis Sayani, Sohan Kalangutkar, Om Kerkar, Dattaraj Nachinolkar, Siddharth Kamat, Vedang Keni, Soham Usgaonkar, Jinal Jagdish Bhanushali, Shilpa Rai and Kaushal Phadte.
Vice chairperson of the Goa Branch, Milind Shirodkar, stated that the newly qualified CAs are from all parts of Goa and hoped that this would inspire local youth from across Goa to take up this profession.
WICASA chairperson of the Goa Branch, Vishwanath Bhobe, mentioned that some of the newly qualified CAs have parents in accounts/tax fields; however, many have come from very humble backgrounds.
Secretary Goa Branch Vinayak Dhumatkar also added that students get a stipend while learning at CA offices for three years, so they earn while they learn. The stipend is now going to be doubled as per the revised proposed scheme, Dhumatkar said.
Treasurer of the Goa Branch, Vaibhav Bale, said that currently there is huge demand and less supply for CAs in Goa. We have seen several private employers struggle to find CAs for their companies. These new CAs will be able to take advantage of this situation
