Agitated with the State government's decision to file a case against office bearers of North Goa Tourist Taxi Owners Association (NGTTOA) for opposing rent-a-car and Ola cab services, the NGTTOA has called for a state-wide bandh on Thursday.
A decision to this effect was taken by NGTTOA members in Calangute on Tuesday, after they expressed anger with the government for filing a case against 15 officer bearers of NGTTOA. The case will come up for hearing before the Judicial Magistrate First Class at Mapusa on Wednesday.
According to sources, the government has been under fire for allowing rent-a-car and Ola cab services in the State, prompting opposition from North and South Goa Tourist Taxi associations.
Meanwhile, a meeting with the South Goa and North Goa Tourist Taxi Associations will be convened at Benaulim, to chalk out its further course of action.
