The State Cabinet is set to have its first formal meeting in three months on
October 31.
The Cabinet meeting is scheduled to be held at 5 pm next Wednesday at Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar’s private residence in Dona Paula where he has been confined since returning from AIIMS on October 14, the source from the General Administration Department said.
A day earlier on Tuesday, a meeting of the Investment Promotion Board is also scheduled to be held at the private residence where doctors from Goa Medical College have set up top of the line medical facilities to monitor the Chief Minister’s health round-the-clock. There is, however, no information on what the agenda for these meetings will be.
The Parrikar-led Cabinet had last met formally in July-August last when the Goa legislative assembly was in session. Two back-to-back Cabinet meetings were chaired by Parrikar on July 27 and August 1, in which the technical requirement of the need for a Cabinet approval to government-sponsored legislations and amendments before they are introduced and passed in the legislature, were fulfilled.
The amendment to the laws governing the salaries and perks to ministers and legislators were some among those cleared by the Cabinet at these twin meetings held on July 27 and August 1.
