Amid political speculations of possible cabinet reshuffle, Protocol Minister Mauvin Godinho on Friday said that Pramod Sawant has got one of the “best” and “talented” cabinet.
Addressing a State-level function held to mark 39th Statehood Day, Godinho said that over the years Sawant has emerged as a strong leader.
What was interesting during the event was the seating position of Sawant and Minister Govind Gaude- who is currently under the scanner for his “corruption” remark against the CM led tribal department. Both the leaders were seen seated side-by-side off dais and having indulged in some light discussion, before being called on the podium.
“It is not that Chief Minister Pramod Sawant is doing everything all alone...I had told him before that dotor (CM) you have got one of the best and talented cabinet,” he said in the presence of some of his cabinet colleagues.
“…use this cabinet to its full potential…together we can achieve progress in all sectors…we can shine in all fields…there will be criticism as we march towards growth and progress…people are not use to such change and transition,” he added further.
The statement attains importance as it has come at a time when there are simmering speculations of possible cabinet reshuffle in the coming days.
Godinho said that the foundation of development and good governance laid down by then CM late Manohar Parrikar, was carried “well” forward by Pramod Sawant.
“I had the opportunity to work under Manohar Parrikar…under him I saw the speed of development, way of governance and administrative functioning …he laid the foundation for this…However, there came a time to think what after Parrikar…whether Goa will function properly but Pramod Sawant handled the situation very well,” he said.
“And as the years go by, we realise that Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave the best leader after Parrikar…I really appreciate the kind of work he is doing,” the Minister commented.
