A 32-year-old man from West Bengal was arrested on charges of illegal possession of narcotics drugs in Calangute in the wee hours Wednesday, Calangute Police said.
The accused, Alamgir Mandal, has been residing at Nagoa in Bardez.
Calangute Police on patrolling duty stopped the rider of a scooter at midnight at Dongarpur junction, Calangute and on personal search, found in the possession of the accused greenish colour leafy substance suspected to be Ganja weighing 300 grams worth Rs 30,000.
Police conducted the panchanama and seized the drugs.
An offence was registered under the relevant NDPS Act against the accused, who was later arrested. PSI Navin Dessai is investigating further.
