The Cuncolim Citizens Forum has demanded revocation of the permission issued by the Town and Country Planning department and the Cuncolim Municipal Council for land development at Panzorconne-Cuncolim.
The CCF has strongly condemned the lethargic attitude of TCP and CMC for granting Technical Clearance Order and Licence for development of the land in question depicted as Orchard, without assessing the ground reality and topography of the land which involves huge hard (white boulders) rocks, hillock and water bodies in the vicinity.
Forum president Mario Moraes demanded the revocation and cancellation of Technical Clearance Order dated 5/4/2021 and Licence dated 20/4/2021 which is granted by the concerned authorities, even as he expressed surprise as to how come permissions have been issued so fast within 15 days time otherwise such files are kept pending for nearly more than a month.
In a strongly worded representation addressed to the Senior Town Planner, Chief Officer and Police Inspector of the concerned area, the CCF contended that without the requisite NOC's from National Highway 66, Water Resources and Forest Departments etc., massive breaking of huge hard rocks, hill cutting, laying of approach road and filling of low lying areas resulting in blocking of water bodies have taken place at the site with the help of heavy machinery.
