Flood crisis: MMC CO vows to help Margao citizens

Margao Municipal Council (MMC) Chief Officer Agnelo Fernandes has pledged to reach out to Margao Citizens in times of the flooding crisis.

The Chief Officer has been active throughout the pandemic time to assist citizens in every possible manner to ensure MMC delivers uninterrupted services to Citizens.

Due to persistent rain, low lying areas within Margao Municipal jurisdiction tend to flood, keeping in view of this, the CO has kept ready 10 vehicles with mechanics as well to tow any vehicles submerged in water.

The CO has also given a call to citizens who can help those in distress along with food provision if any. “We have kept open options over the weekend for Citizens to reach out to him in their times of distress”,  he said, adding that a young brigade has also volunteered to help the needy free of cost in case of any eventuality.

Earlier during COVID times, the Chief Officer had tied up with El Shaddha and Rotary Club Margao to provide two times meals a day  to the stranded people about  200 per day.
