PONDA
A resident of Undir-Bandora on Monday sought stay order on the work of laying of a pipeline network connecting to proposed sewerage treatment plant in close vicinity.
The additional director of panchayat has fixed the
hearing in this matter on January 24.
Mukund Naik had challenged the construction license issued by the Bandora Panchayat to construct STP at Undir. Earlier, the villagers during a gram sabha forced the Panchayat to revoke NOC issued to the Sewerage Corporation, but later the panchayat okayed the project.
It may be recalled that on January 18, a group of villagers from Undir had restrained the Sewerage and Infrastructural Development Corporation (SIDC) workers from laying a pipeline at Kajibhat and opposed the sewerage treatment plant in their area.
The locals had shouted slogans against PWD Minister Sudin Dhavalikar in front of the police and his brother, PWD engineer Dilip Dhavalikar. During the agitation, the locals had sought time till January 22 to get stay order for laying the pipeline and the additional director of panchayat has issued notices to the SIDC.
Gurudas Naik, who is spearheading the agitation, said they are hopeful of getting stay order on Wednesday.
