Goa Shipyard Ltd (GSL) CMD Cmde B B Nagpal has emphasised the need for local Goan Industry and MSMEs to actively participate in GSL’s Shipbuilding programme.
He was addressing a one-day vendor meet organised by the GSL in association with CII, Goa to enhance business opportunities for local industry in the State.
The event also facilitated the local MSMEs and vendors to register onboard the government e- portal and also register as a vendor in the GSL vendor base.
The meet also created awareness about GSL’s requirement of products and services for shipbuilding & general engineering and encourage entrepreneurs to participate in GSL tenders.
The GSL said the event was attended by entrepreneurs and MSMEs from in and around Goa, Director of Industries, Trade & Commerce Swetika Sachan, GSL CMD Cmde B B Nagpal, Cmde BK Munjal (Advisor GeM) and CII Goa State Council Chairman Atul Jadhav.
Speaking at the inaugural session, Cmde Nagpal emphasised the need for local Goan industry and MSMEs to actively participate in GSL’s Shipbuilding programme and indicated that the Yard has a considerable order book to execute in the coming years.
“It is important to have a strong ancillary industry and ecosystem to support its shipbuilding programmes,” he said.
He also highlighted the need for all vendors to register on the GeM platform and utilise the portal’s features and advantages to their benefit.
