MARGAO
Goa Forest Development Corporation chairperson and MLA Deviya Rane on Thursday stressed the need to protect the environment, saying eco-tourism cannot come at the cost of the ecology that attracts visitors.
Addressing the concluding programme of Wildlife Week at Ravindra Bhavan, Margao, Rane called for forest conservation, responsible eco-tourism and scientific management of human-animal conflict.
She said eco-tourism should encourage visitors to learn about and value nature while remaining within ecological limits.
PWD Minister Digambar Kamat said environmental concerns were being discussed globally.
