Calls to protect Kesarval Spring

MARGAO
Working President of Goa Pradesh Youth Congress, Mahesh Nadar has demanded to protect Kesarval spring by taking various measures.

In his letter to South Goa Collector, Nadar has expressed concern that current geological condition of the spring is extremely critical, with visible signs of soil erosion, weakened slopes, and instability in the surrounding terrain.

Thala Shaikh, Sandeep Naik, Rohit Gawde, Omkar Chowgule, Peter Fernandes and Nazir Shabal were present on the occasion.

“These indicators strongly suggest the risk of a landslide, which could lead to a tragic disaster, especially considering the high footfall of local residents and tourists who regularly visit the spring for bathing and relaxation, we urge your esteemed office to take immediate action by deploying a team of geotechnical and environmental experts to assess the site,” Nadar stated.

Nadar emphasised that the area is currently unsafe for visitors, particularly during the rainy season when many people explore such sites. “The government should ensure safety and spread awareness about the present condition,” he added.

Seeking urgent attention to the issue, Nadar demanded swift action. “Kesarval spring is our heritage, and many people visit it. Therefore, it needs to be protected. I urge the government to take this issue seriously,” he said.
