In a significant breakthrough, Anjuna Police on Wednesday arrested a Cameroon national and seized 10.53 gms of cocaine worth Rs 1.10 lakh, along with Rs 6.81 lakh in cash, during an anti-narcotics operation at Solim.
Later in the evening, a Mapusa court remanded the accused to six days’ police custody.
Acting on a reliable tip-off, a police team conducted a raid near Love Story Villa at Bammonwado, Solim.
The team intercepted a blue Fascino scooter (GA-03-BD-1164) ridden by Jude Boussari (44), a resident of Oxel, Siolim. Upon searching the vehicle, police recovered cocaine and cash in various denominations.
Boussari was placed under arrest under Section 21(b) of the NDPS Act, 1985. The seized drugs and cash were taken into custody under a panchanama.
Police sources said the accused had earlier been identified by the Crime Branch in connection with a July 2025 NDPS case involving Nambong Fred Karl, another Cameroonian national arrested with a commercial quantity of drugs.
A lookout circular (LOC) had been issued against Boussari, who had been absconding since then.
The arrest marks a joint success for Anjuna Police and the Crime Branch, who had been tracking the accused for several months.
The FRRO has been informed to alert the Cameroon Embassy regarding the arrest.
