Camurlim Sarpanch Pandurang Khorjuvekar has been ousted by 4-0 votes in a no-confidence motion in the seven-member panchayat committee.
The four panchas who voted in favour of the motion were Laxman Naik, Sanjana Mashelkar, Ranjana Naik Gaonkar and Chaya Gad. The three members who did not attend the meeting were Sarpanch Pandurang Khorjuvekar, Deputy Sarpanch Sangita Pednekar and Dharma Parab.
The no-confidence motion had been moved on February 20.
Meanwhile, the posts of sarpanch at the Camurlim and Tivim are now vacant, as both sarpanchas were ousted from their posts. The sarpanch’s post at Tivim has been vacant for over 45 days.
