CANACONA
Three more Covid cases were detected in Canacona, taking overall active count to 22 in a fresh wave of Covid infections in the taluka.
According to health sources, four samples were sent for RTPCR tests and three tested positive on Thursday.
“A school student who came to CHC with fever also tested positive for Covid and samples will be collected from the school,” said the source.
When asked if people had volunteered to come for Covid tests in Canacona, the source replied that only symptomatic people who visited the CHC for treatment were being referred by the medical officers for tests.
“Most infections are mild and patients are provided with a kit and advised compulsory home isolation for seven days. If the symptoms persist beyond seven days, patients are advised three more days in home isolation,” informed a doctor at the CHC.
Seven cases were reported on Tuesday and four cases were detected on Wednesday.
The infection is not restricted to any one place and cases have been reported from all over the taluka.
Health officials have requested people to wear face masks and take necessary precautions as before, to avoid further spread of the Covid infection.
