Despite having over a dozen medical stores, residents in Canacona had been deprived of a pharmacy which would provide 24-hour services, especially in times of need. That is, until now.
The MedPlus Chemists and Druggists has recently opened in the heart of Chaudi to provide 24x7 services.
It may be recalled that a number of citizens had been bitterly complaining over non-availability of medicines, especially life-saving drugs, at night and on holidays.
Canacona's commercial hub of Chaudi alone has around 10 pharmacies and while there are drugstores in neighbouring Nagarcem and two in Poinguinim, most of them were open only on weekdays and only a few were open on Sundays.
Sahil Dessai of MedPlus Chemists and Druggists pharmacy said services would be provided to people round the clock on all days.
