Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Friday asserted that the state government has no intention of imposing yet another period of lockdown in view of the high number of Covid-19 cases and deaths being reported in the state.
The Chief Minister was commenting on the WhatsApp forwards warning Goans about yet another lockdown.
While ruling out the possibility of a lockdown, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said that he will ask Goa Police to inquire into the origin of the messages being forwarded.
“Certain elements are habituated to creating panic. Now, the unlock phase has started, things have returned to normalcy. Goans generally know what comes from official sources and what does not. But people should not fall prey to rumors,” he said while urging people not to panic due to such false news.
