Canacona man booked for allegedly sharing child pornography

CANACONA

Canacona police have booked a resident of Colomb-Canacona for allegedly downloading a video from a child pornography website and sharing it on WhatsApp groups.

Police said Pruthvi Pagi of Colomb-Canacona allegedly accessed a child pornography website on his mobile phone, downloaded a video and later shared or uploaded the file on WhatsApp groups using his personal mobile phone. The incident is reported to have taken place in the first week of April.

Police further informed that the mobile phone used in the alleged offence is registered in the name of the accused’s mother.

Canacona police have registered a case under Section 67B of the Information Technology Act and Sections 13, 14 and 15 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. Further investigation is being carried out by Canacona Police Station PI Pravin Gawas.
