According to sources at the Canacona Returning Office, four certificates were handed over to Ramdas Babu Pujari (Ward 4 of Poinguinim), Ajay Pagui (Ward 1) and Nisha Velip (Ward 3) of Khola and Sachin Naik of Loliem. All four were declared elected unopposed after withdrawal of nominations.
On Tuesday, Canacona RO Ramesh Gaonkar convened a meeting will all candidates contesting the panchayat polls and briefed them on the Do’s and Dont’s for candidates and their election agents during campaigning period and on polling day.
Meanwhile, Rohit Kadam has been appointed as observer for the panchayat elections in Canacona Taluka and he will available in the Taluka till June 13, the day when votes are to be counted. He will be available at the Government Rest House at Shristhal from 11 am to 5.30 pm and his contact number is 8380018171. Voters and candidates from Canacona taluka may approach him for any need arising out of panchayat elections, sources informed The Goan.
