CANACONA
Stating that his dream is to create a prosperous Canacona, Art & Culture Minister Ramesh Tawadkar said he would like to ensure that every person in the Canacona constituency becomes economically and socially empowered.
Tawadkar was addressing the ‘Women and Youth Empowerment’ programme organised by the Directorate of Planning, Statistics and Evaluation, under the concept of Atmanirbhar Bharat (Self-Reliant India) and Swayampurna Goa (Self-Sufficient Goa), at Adarsh Gram, Amone-Poinguinim. The programme was attended by a large number of women and youth.
Speaking further, Tawadkar said, “Through their own dedication, the people of Canacona are going to resolve the problems of Canacona on their own. My dream is to create a prosperous Canacona and a job-providing taluka.”
“It is my duty to provide a platform to even the most ordinary women and youth. I am committed to ensuring that every person in the Canacona constituency becomes economically and socially empowered.”
Earlier, Tawadkar inaugurated the event in the presence of South Goa Zilla Panchayat Chairman Sidharth Gawas Desai and the Deputy Director of Planning, Statistics and Evaluation, Dr Kailas Gokhale.
Sidharth Desai, Poinguinim ZP member Ajay Lolayekar, Loliem-Polem Sarpanch Nisha Chari, Poinguinim Sarpanch Savita Tawadkar and Adarsh Yuwa Sangh President Chandrakant Velip also spoke on the occasion.
During the event, the keynote speakers/resource persons provided insight into the various schemes, subsidies, low-interest loans and other facilities available to women and youth to build their careers and ensure a better future.
Entrepreneur Sneha Bhagwat, Tribal Welfare Department Dy Director Sagar Verlekar, Education Dept Dy Director Reshma Chanekar, DRDA Deepali Naik and EDC officer Clara Rodrigues were among the resource persons at the event.
