LONDON
Nightclub and pub owners who spoke to The Goan on condition of anonymity said the vandalism at one nightclub in Hounslow on June 24 was unacceptable and there would be consequences as a result of the incident.
“What happened there (nightclub) is unacceptable and none of us would like to risk hosting Goan functions at our venues, for the simple reason that we do not want problems from a few and risk the safety of our customers and possible damage to our property,” said one pub owner.
Following the incident on June 24, local owners of pubs and nightclubs plan sometime soon to take precautionary measures to avoid troublemakers from disrupting functions in future.
“The police are quick to take action in such incidents to restore peace and order, but we pub and nightclub owners are worried of repercussions when police register an offence, because the venue license faces a risk of being cancelled and we do not want to risk our businesses,” said the nightclub owner.
Despite efforts, the owner of the nightclub where the incident took place did not respond to calls made by The Goan to seek more details and comments in the matter.
