Car burnt, statues, grotto vandalised in Belagavi

In a shocking incident, vandals have attacked the residence of a Goan residing in Belagavi, vandalising the statues and grotto in the compound of the house. Statues of Mother Mary, Jesus and other saints inside the compound were destroyed and a car was burnt.

According to John Cabral, originally hailing from Ponda and now residing at Savgaon Road Belagavi, he and his family had gone to Ponda on August 21 to attend the funeral of his elder brother. On August 23 night, he received a call from the neighbours informing about the incident.
When the family reached back Belagavi, the family was shocked to see the destruction caused. After getting the information, Police Commissioner deputed a team of senior police officials on the spot.

Vaddem lake ramp set for Ganesh immersion
