A private car driven by a West Bengal-based tourist veered off the road and plunged into a rivulet at Piklewadi, near the Collem-Mollem border. The couple however escaped unhurt.
Collem Police said the car was proceeding from Mollem towards Collem, when the driver lost the control of the vehicle and the car plunged into a rivulet.
While the driver managed to come out of the car, the woman could not get out of the vehicle.
Locals alerted the Collem police and a police team led by Police Inspector Raghoba Kamat went to the site and helped the woman get out of the vehicle.
