A Zen Estilo car was completely gutted in a major fire on the busy old market road near the South Goa district Court building on Thursday noon.

Fortunately, the occupants of the running car noticed smoke billowing from the engine and stopped the vehicle and rushed out for safety. Within seconds, the car was engulfed by a major fire.

Before the Margao fire brigade could arrive at the spot, the vehicle was totally gutted.

Margao fire brigade said the car was completely gutted in the fire, causing loss of around Rs 4 lakh. The cause of the fire is being ascertained.
