A BMW car was completely gutted in a fire at Mugali in Sao Jose de Areal village on Wednesday evening.
Margao Fire Officer Gill D’Souza informed that the occupants of the car bearing no. GA 07 G 6101 rushed out of the vehicle after they saw smoke billowing from the engine.
The Margao fire brigade which rushed to the spot found the vehicle engulfed in a major fire. The car was gutted in the inferno.
To a question, Gill said the vehicle is registered in the name of Yasmin Bi Sheikh, a resident of Rumdamol-Davorlim.
A short circuit is suspected the cause behind the fire. The loss of property is being ascertained.
