Four occupants of a car from Karnataka had a lucky escape after their vehicle hit a culvert wall and turned turtle before landing into a nullah near Mohidin Industries, Chicalim, on Thursday afternoon.
According to an eye witness, the car (KA-16 M-7936) was speeding and on reaching a turn near Mohidin Industries Chicalim, it dashed against a culvert wall and turned turtle and landed into the nullah.
The eye witness added that the four occupants of the car, who were young boys, escaped without injuries and Vasco Police removed them out from the car. They were rushed to Chicalim Cottage Hospital for medical aid.
When contacted, the occupants of the car identified themselves as driver, Gaus Peer (24), Azeez Sahik (24), Srinivas (24) and Kiran (24).
Speaking to The Goan, Peer said they had left their native place at about 2 am on Thursday to see beaches in Goa.
“I was driving the car throughout the night and we reached Calangute at about 6 am. After roaming there for about two hours, we went to other beaches and were on our way to Bogmalo beach. As I was awake the whole night, I fell asleep and the next moment found ourselves in the water with the car upside down,” said Peer.
Peer said the police after taking them out of the nullah took them to the Cottage Hospital for first aid.
Vasco Police registered a case of self-accident and the car was later removed from the Nullah. All the four occupants of the car were discharged after first aid.
