Vasco BJP MLA Carlos Almeida on Sunday said that there was no question of him being denied a BJP ticket in the upcoming assembly elections.
Almeida was speaking to media people during a medical camp in Vasco. He also refuted rumours of his wife contesting from Vasco while adding that the shortfall of developmental infrastructure projects was due to lack of funds with the Government
"I am contesting for sure and on a BJP ticket from Vasco. I don't support Family Raj politics unlike other leaders who fielded their wives in municipal elections and there is no question of my wife contesting. I am not only 100 percent but 1000 percent sure that I will get the BJP ticket from Vasco.”
He added, “Being a two time MLA, I should automatically get the ticket and I don't need to ask for a ticket and there is nothing against me or no corruption charges. There may be some shortfalls like the pending works of the KTC Bus stand but that is because the Government does not have funds."
In race only if Carlos
says no: BJP member
VASCO: Vasco BJP Mandal President Deepak Naik admitted in the presence of Carlos that he was also in the race for BJP ticket from Vasco but maintained that he would take the ticket only if Almeida is not offered the ticket or if he rejects it. Naik said that BJP would finally win from Vasco in the upcoming assembly elections
"Everyone has aspirations and I am not denying that I also have aspirations to contest assembly elections. We are loyal and dedicated Karyakartas of the party and ready to take any responsibility given to us.
Carlos is automatically the choice of the BJP for candidature from Vasco and I will stand by him. I will try my level best to push the candidature of Carlos from Vasco but if he says no, I will definitely try for the ticket," said Naik.
