With the tourist season set to reach the peak during Christmas and New Year, the Village Panchayat Cavelossim is all geared up for the holiday season for smooth traffic flow and parking facilities.
Cavelossim Sarpanch Dixon Vaz has said the Panchayat has deployed private security on the beach to keep illegal hawkers and other miscreants at bay. “We have also developed a parking area so that our visitors don’t face hardships,” he said.
Saying that the Panchayat had a meeting with some starred hotels to deploy extra security personnel outside their hotels on the main road to organise proper parking, Dixon said the Panchayat has repaired all the street lights for better illumination.
“We want to make Cavelossim a preferred destination for our guests as we are facing lots of challenges. There’s a sharp decline in tourists this year due to the commissioning of the Mopa airport, but we have quality tourists who love clean beaches,” Dixon asserted.
