The Central Bureau of Investigations (CBI) on Friday opposed the applications filed by Revenue Minister Atanasio Monserrate and MLA wife Jennifer for permanent exemption from appearance in the Court in the Panjim police station attack case.
The husband-wife duo that are charged as accused in the Panjim police station case had at the last date of hearing moved the South Goa Sessions Judge, Irshad Agha to grant them permanent exemption from appearing in the case.
When the matter came up for hearing before Judge Irshad Agha, the Public Prosecutor representing the CBI, Noushad filed his reply to the applications filed by the Monserrates, opposing permanent exemption for the duo.
Adv Noushad contended that trial in the case has started that the duo will be required for the purpose of identification.
After hearing the arguments, Judge Agha has fixed the order on the applications on July 21.
Meanwhile, Judge Agha has issued notice to the owner of a car before adjourning the matter.
