The year long #RostoCampaign for better and pothole-free roads in Goa was launched in Goa on Wednesday by dancer Cecille Rodrigues from Taleigao.

Cecille sported her #Rosto t-shirt at Prudent Media’s 13th anniversary celebrations where she interacted with legislators hoping to make them aware of the campaign, and also hoping to move them towards giving Goans better roads. Cecille’s shirt read #rostocampaign Goa Deserves Quality Roads’ on the back.

In a Facebook post earlier in the day, Cecille explained that she would sport the #Rosto t-shirt for 365 days and has printed three t-shirts of the same kind for herself. She’s also got the t-shirt printed for her son, and her friends, who were a part of her hit ‘rosto’ video. “This is my way of campaigning for better roads in Goa. It’s not only the potholes. While potholes is the main thing, there is cattle on the roads creating a menace, garbage strewn on our roads, and we cannot drive on half the road because of these things,” said Cecille.

Cecille has encouraged all Goans, especially college students to come out and join in the campaign in whatever way they want. “Come out, shout, scream, use placards, do something different. Unless we voice out, nothing will happen,” she said.

The dancer and activist has also said she will be wearing her rosto t-shirt to all formal functions as well. “I’ve got weddings coming up, and I will go to church in my Rosto t-shirt. This is the only way I will be able to get the attention of any minister, MLA, or sarpanch I bump into,” she explained.

“We have to make an impact, and make a difference in our own creative way. I should never look back and ask myself what I have done for Goa,” she added.
